Sangolli Rayanna

                                                             

             Sangolli Raayanna was born on 15th August 1798. He was a great freedom fighter from Karnataka. He is very tall person. He was the army chief of the Kingdom of Kittur at the time of  Rani Chennamma ruled time. And fought the British East India Company till his death. Sangolli Rayanna arrested by the British because he participated in rebellion, who released him later. He continued to fight the British and wanted to install adopted son Shivalingappa as the ruler of Kittur. Rayanna is a great warrior in the Kittur kingdom. He is best fighter in gerilla war idea. He is not a single person when he ready to face war, he is a unity, he is a group, or team of thousand strong warrior. British people caught him indirectly with the help of cunning people of Kittur. Unfortunately at that time British government give the hanging punishment to him. And  26th he was hanged out.
            India got freedom on 15th August, co-insistently that date is the Rayanna's birth day and  26th January is his death day and that day would become the Republic Day. Karnataka is lucky to have a son like Rayanna, Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna.
